Old Course Suites

The Old Course Suites surely have to be Scotland’s most magnificent and unique suites, for who else can claim this stunning accommodation directly above the 17th green of the world’s most famous golf course?

Words cannot describe the views from these suites, which are fully capitalised to the hilt thanks to the private balconies in each suite and the floor-to-ceiling windows. Features include direct panoramic views of the Old Course – you can almost touch the sand in the bunkers from your balcony – as well as the Royal & Ancient where the rules of golf are governed, the historic town of St Andrews and the Fife coastline that stretches for miles and miles. Stepping out onto your private balcony and breathing in the pure, fresh sea air as you watch the eager golfers fulfil a lifetime ambition really is an experience to savour. You are also, literally, part of a film set, as West Sands Beach, located in front of the Old Course, was used for the opening scene of the film Chariots of Fire.

The Old Course Suites are truly relaxing – a haven in fact – combining neutral tones with ravishing splashes of the resort’s signature red and green. The lovely, warm décor feels very Scottish yet remains contemporary, with a stunning combination of tactile textiles such as velvet furniture with matching cushions, silk curtains, a Jacques Garcia-designed 100% wool throw on the end of the bed and the pièce de résistance being the silk-lined walls.

The generously-sized bathrooms are distinctly Kohler; after all the company is famed for its state-of-the-art bathroom products. Customised Kohler chromatherarpy (colour therapy) baths which take you from a cool blue to a vivid yellow (whatever matches your mood), a huge separate walk-in shower with seating bench, marble tops and pampering Kohler bathroom products are just some of the unique features.

The parlour room includes a separate WC and galley kitchen area for in-room hospitality.
