Join us for an Easter adventure

Kids stay free this April

Are you ready for a family holiday filled with fun and adventure? Join us in St Andrews for an unforgettable break designed to thrill the kids while fulfilling your love of the finer things.

Wee VIPs

We’ll be laying out the red carpet for the little ones this Easter with miniature robes and slippers, a little snuggle-buddy on the bed, and a cracking chocolate surprise from the Easter bunny (if you time your trip right). Best of all, none of it will cost you a thing as kids stay free all April.

Adventure-filled days

With a range of activities on offer, including scavenger hunts, putting, kite flying and pool time, there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained from morning to night. We’ve also got new children’s menus in our family-friendly venues, the Jigger Inn and Hams Hame, to tempt your little ones.

Exciting expeditions

Our iconic location overlooking the sea, just a stone’s throw from town, puts you in the perfect place for exploring. Head to the beach to build castles and search rock pools, get up close to the local sea life at St Andrews Aquarium, take in a show at The Byre Theatre, explore the attractions at Craigtoun Country Park, or discover the beautiful Botanic Gardens.

Finer things

This is a break for you too, so make the most of it with long, leisurely lie-ins on our cloud-like beds, indulgent meals in our beautiful light-filled conservatory, and delicious drinks with epic views in our rooftop bar Swilcan Loft.

Easter activities

With so much to do in and around the hotel, get set for an unforgettable family holiday…

Scavenger Hunt

Keep your little explorers entertained by letting them lead you on an adventure in and around the hotel. Just pick up a map from the front desk and head off on a mission to solve the clues together.

Splash time

Dive into Easter fun in our fitness pool, where kids are welcome between 10am and 5pm every day. Just remember to book before you look out the rubber rings as these relaxed swimming sessions are sure to be popular.

Egg painting

What could be more fun than painting a boiled egg? Painting a chocolate one! Our talented pastry chef will be teaching the kids how to decorate their eggs with chocolate paint at these creative (and possibly messy) sessions taking place over the Easter weekend.

Family yoga

Kids need a time out? Do YOU? Parents and children are welcome at these free yoga classes led by our expert instructor. Take your places on the mat for a simple but rewarding sequence, suitable for all ages and abilities. Classes available every Saturday in April.

Fussy foodies

To satisfy even the pickiest of little eaters, we’ve expanded our children’s menus at our family-friendly pubs Hams Hame and the Jigger Inn. Expect all the kids’ faves, plus plenty of healthy options to help them get their five a day.

Swimming lessons

Running every weekday evening between 7th and 18th April, our swimming lessons are a great opportunity for little ones (aged 4+) to learn water confidence and improve their skills. To book your child into a lesson (for £15), just speak to the team at our Kohler Water Fitness centre.

Days out

Beach days

Our location on the Fife coast is ideal for beach lovers. With West Sands on our doorstep, East Sands on the other side of town, plus Kingsbarns and Tentsmuir a short drive away, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Kite flying

Make the most of the silver sands and blue skies with a trip to the beach for a spot of kite flying. We have a selection of kites available for guests. Just ask at the front desk, then take a stroll down to West Sands for some flying fun.

St Andrews Aquarium

Get up close to 120 species at our local aquarium, home not only to underwater life and penguins, but amazing animals you might not expect to see from marmosets to meerkats. Open seven days a week, it’s a must-do while you’re in town.

The Byre Theatre

From movies to magic shows, there’s something for everyone at St Andrews’ historic theatre which has been welcoming audiences since 1933. Visit the website to find out what’s on and book tickets.

Craigtoun Country Park

An epic outdoor playground for kids, big and small, Craigtoun is the perfect place for a fun-filled day out. There’s a boating pond, train rides, go-karts, zip lines and trampolines, plus acres of lawn to play and picnic on. Open 24/7, with no entry free.

St Andrews Botanic Garden

Explore 18 acres of woodland walks, meadows, ponds and living laboratories in these beautiful botanic gardens located in the heart of town. Adult tickets, £6; Under 16s, free.

Golf fun

Putting green

Located on the green situated at the front of the hotel, our Putting Green is the ideal place for budding golfers to take their first swing. Just ask at the front desk for clubs and balls then enjoy a fun, friendly game. (Seasoned golfers: please note the word ‘friendly’).

The Balgove Course

Located just next to the hotel, The Balgove is the only nine-hole course in St Andrews, and the ideal choice for families, children and beginners. As friends of The Balgove, our golf services team can arrange your visit. Just let them know when you’d like to play and they’ll take care of the details. Adults from £8, kids from £3.

Driving Range

Want to get some practice in before you let the family on the course? Pay a visit to St Andrews Links Academy, where you can buy a token for the driving range and help budding golfers perfect their swing.

The Himalayas

St Andrews’ own version of crazy golf was laid out by Old Tom Morris himself. The undulating 18-hole putting green, located just next to the famous Old Course, promises fun family play for all ages. Adults, £4, under 16s, £2.

The R&A World Golf Museum

Situated opposite the famous Royal and Ancient Clubhouse, five minutes walk from the hotel, this fascinating museum explores the rich history of golf from its very beginnings up until the modern day. With kids’ activities and a family-friendly rooftop restaurant, it’s a great local spot for a day out. Adults from £16, under 16s, free.
